The Ego’s Daily Affirmations*
Guilt will be the driving force behind my actions today.
I will conceal my feelings of worthlessness and incompetence by smiling.
Today I will avenge the past.
My ego will guide me effortlessly through the day.
I have a right to project onto other people.
I have an inherent right to be critical of others.
Today I will make note of people’s deficiencies.
Today I will give advice to those who need to better themselves.
Others could save me a lot of time by accepting that I am always right.
Today I will gossip about those I resent.
Today I will belittle others as I have been belittled in the past.
Today I will dwell on how my parents neglected me.
I will envy others today.
Today I will judge my partner.
Today I will expect others to anticipate my needs, and get angry if they fail to do so.
My anger makes me powerful.
Today I will seek out an abusive environment.
Today I will nurture my hatred of others.
Today I will escalate my negative self-talk.
After all I’ve been through, I have a right to be a victim.
Today I will make decisions based upon my sense of impending doom.
I have a right to complain in order to elicit sympathy.
I will nurture my anxieties today.
I affirm my right to trust no one.
Today I will sigh heavily and then deny that anything is wrong.
Today I will become ill so I can rest without feeling guilty.
I have a right to whine to get my needs met.
Today I will dwell in the there and then.
Today I will take no responsibility for anything.
